TRiSOR протестирован Stiftung Warentest

The safe deposit box offerings from TRiSOR have been tested twice by Stiftung Warentest and Stiftung Warentest Finanztest. With a high demand for safe deposit boxes and a decreasing supply from banks and savings banks, customers often do not know where to store their valuables or whether the provider ensures security.

The result from Stiftung Warentest is difficult to interpret. For example, what good is it for a customer in Dortmund if the cheapest safe deposit box is offered by TRiSOR in Nuremberg? Thus, even if the test winner receives an excellent rating from Stiftung Warentest, it is of little practical use to the consumer unless the service is available in their area. The availability of the offering at the customer's location is crucial.

Even if a safe deposit box is rated as high or low in price in the Stiftung Warentest test, this rating is not a decisive factor for someone looking to securely store their valuables, due to the necessity of local availability.

How Did Stiftung Warentest Test TRiSOR?

Stiftung Warentest compared the conditions for safe deposit boxes and bank safe deposit boxes from 52 providers (40 banks and 12 alternative providers).

Stiftung Warentest requested information from a total of 80 banks and 22 alternative providers like TRiSOR. This group included all nationwide banks and major savings banks as well as cooperative banks. The discrepancy is due to refusals ("No more safe deposit boxes available" or "Service discontinued") or ignored requests.

Size Comparison of Safe Deposit Boxes

Stiftung Warentest used a model box with the following dimensions:

21cm x 4.9cm x 29.7cm (W/H/D)

This size can accommodate A4 documents. These safe deposit boxes have a volume of about 3 liters and are typically the smallest offered by most providers. There are different box sizes depending on the location or branch.

At TRiSOR, safe deposit boxes in three different sizes are available at all locations, allowing consumers to choose the size that best meets their needs.

Insurance Coverage

Stiftung Warentest also checked whether insurance coverage is included and to what extent. At TRiSOR, a basic insurance coverage of 5,000 euros is included in the rental price. This coverage can be adjusted up to 500,000 euros.

Cash

Attention! Not all safe deposit box providers automatically insure stored cash, as Stiftung Warentest points out. At TRiSOR, cash stored in the safe deposit box is insured.

Availability of Safe Deposit Boxes

The percentage value indicated by Stiftung Warentest refers to all safe deposit boxes of the provider.

At TRiSOR, safe deposit boxes are still available at all locations, although there are already waiting lists for some sizes.

Renting a Safe Deposit Box Anonymously?

Banks report the opening of a safe deposit box to the tax authorities. Alternative providers are not required to do so.

At TRiSOR, the customer must present an ID once, but after that, the rent can be paid in cash, allowing for a degree of anonymity.

More information on all TRiSOR locations and renting a safe deposit box on-site can be found here.
